LH Shan
(Shaneyn x Prairie Jane) 1975 Arabian gelding and best friend

Shan was my first horse. I purchased him shortly after I graduated high school when we were both quite young and inexperienced. He has been an eventer, endurance racer, dressage horse, camping companion, cow horse, riding teacher, dressage master, trail companion, driving horse, confidant, and best friend. My favorite rides were in the mountains or at the beach with not a stitch of tack on Shan. He always took care of me when I was on his back. He is now retired from "work", and spends his days being nanny to my weaned foals. He is sometimes stiff with arthritis but still loves a good romp in the pasture on a cool morning. He was never just my dream horse; He is my Fantasy Horse.
Shan passed away peacefully on January 1, 2008. He is buried next to his old gal, Dorina, on the hill overlooking the farm.
