The MARES of Serpentine Farm
Mares are the foundation blocks upon which a successful breeding program is built. While choosing the correct stallion is vital, it must be acknowledged that mares have a greater than 50% influence on their foals. Besides providing their genetics, they also carry the fetus and then nurture the foal for its first months of life.
Serpentine Farm mares are selected not only for strong pedigrees, excellent type and conformation, and expressive movement, but also for superior temperament and character. Our mares were selected specifically for breeding to the Serpentine Farm stallions, to reinforce the most desirable attributes of both parents in the resulting foals.
Our philosophy is that the best foals result from not only from the best sires, but from the best dams, as well.
