Serpentine Indigo
(Jalisco X x Jimena de la Parra)
Bay Andalusian gelding foaled Sept 1, 2005

TYPE:
Indigo is a friendly, fancy guy, solidly built, with correct gaits and a confident and cooperative attitude. His gaits are rythmic and cadenced, and he has an especially good walk. He is smooth and easy to sit at all three gaits. He has excellent feet and will probably not require shoeing in most riding situations. He is compactly built, yet quite elastic, and therefore very athletic.
Indigo has been started lightly under saddle (he is not yet three, so we're taking him slowly). He is proving to be willing and capable and he enjoys his work. He is ridden at walk, trot and canter, willingly taking both leads, on the dressage court in an English saddle and a snaffle bit. He has never offered to buck and is extremely safe and reliable for such a young, green horse (as of this writing he has had about 20 rides). He is not distracted by commotion around him as he works, and his ground manners are impeccable. On the trail he handles all obstacles, including water crossings and llamas, with ease.
Indigo has a HUGE personality. He can be a pest in the barn if he doesn't get the attention he believes he is entitled to. He is always ready to do what you ask of him and he is affectionate and fun. He loves to be groomed and fussed with. He is easy to clip, bathe, load and haul, trim his feet, and everything else.
Indigo measured 15.hh at 2 1/2 years and will likely mature to 15.2hh or more.
FUTURE:
Indigo is an ideal amateur or youth dressage prospect and he is also suitable for jumping, pleasure, driving, or an all-around family horse. He is currently training in dressage and has also been free-jumped, for which he has a very good aptitude and desire.
PEDIGREE:
Indigo is sired by the PRE Andalusian stallion Jalisco X, six-times champion in Spain. He is in the Spanish Book of Merit with championships in both halter and performance divisions. He competed successfully in open dressage after his importation to the U.S.
Indigo's dam , Jimena de la Parra, has produced numerous breeding stallions. She gives her tremendously trusting and cooperative nature to her foals.
