Misstrudystarkissgirl
(Black Chief x Starkist Girl) 2003 APHA mare
owned by  Velvet Perry

Trudi is a registered Paint owned by Velvet Perry. She is an adorable, athletic, and very pretty mare with a lively and ground-covering trot and the most beautiful eyes.

Trudi came to Serpentine Farm in Spring of 2006, rescued by Velvet from a neglectful home. She was underweight and in severe need of hoof care. She was wearing a halter that was put on her when she was little, and it was imbedded in her head. She was so covered with mud we didn't know she has stockings until we got her home and washed her. She also had the worst case of scratches (a skin infection caused by living in wet, filthy conditions) I have ever seen - all the way up her legs and onto her belly. The terrible pain caused by the skin infection, plus her distrust of humans, made her a challenge, at first. Velvet patiently worked with her behavior and I worked with her physical ailments. She came around quickly, both emotionally and physically, once her skin began to heal. We learned from her pedigree that genetically she is much taller than her 14 hand height. She was so malnourished as a foal that she barley clears 14hh.

As Trudi's health improved we decide to breed her, and I leased her from Velvet and bred her to Jalisco. She bloomed and ripened over the winter of 2006-2007 and gave birth to her first foal, an American Azteca on April 15. Trudi has a little color, Jalisco is solid bay. The foal is LOUD! He is called Xochipilli.

In April, 2008, Trudi foaled another colt by Jalisco, a bay colt names Simon.
