Prestancia (Spanish for "excellence") is a lovely Iberian Warmblood filly out of the Oldenburg mare, Paloma. Like all of Jalisco's Warmblood cross foals she is elegant and well formed, with suspension in her gaits and wonderful balance and elasticity. Prestancia has an uncanny ability to lower her haunches and collect in one moment and then extend, floating over the ground the next, with natural engagement. At the age of three weeks she was already mastering flying lead changes and canter pirouettes and frequently offers piaffe just for fun - because she can.

Prestancia is confident, affectionate, and loves being trained. As she matures she is developing a solid build with substantial bone, perfect leg conformation, and solid feet which will likely never need shoes. She will likely mature in the upper 16hh to 17hh range.

Prestancia has been shown in hand and has the total show horse attitude: loves the bathing and braiding, calmly travels to the show, and comports herself like royalty in the arena. Oh, and the judges like her. A lot.

The elasticity and balance from her Andalusian sire combined with with the solid build and power of her Oldenburg dam ensures that Prestancia has a bright future in any Sport Horse discipline, including dressage, jumping, and eventing. Prestancia is sired by the PRE Andalusian stallion Jalisco X, six-times champion in Spain. He is in the Spanish Book of Merit with championships in both halter and performance divisions. He competed successfully in open dressage after his importation to the U.S.

Prestancia's mother, Paloma, stands 17hh and is a daughter of Pik Solo (Hanoverian), one of the foundation sires of Sport Horse breeding in America. An accomplished jumper, he sired many Sport Horse in-hand and performance winners. She scored 8.3, earning a premium rating, at her foal inspection.
